Following the infamous "La Maupin," formally known as Julie de'Aubigny, the French, bisexual, sword-swinging, opera singer, this short story tangles with one of her many romantic affairs; which may or may not have involved the burning of a nunnery and desecration of a corpse. History never tells her secrets; she only shepherds the rumors.
